You want plush control, big spin, and a dose of power on the bigger swings? This X Series Shapeshifter improves on the already classic paddle, and now it's in our original EX Elongated shape!
Just like the classic Shapeshifter, this elite paddle features the unique 3D 18K cubic carbon fiber surface on a unibody mold with foam edges to maximize the sweet spot. The Shapeshifter will wow with its top tier spin in all directions due to the flexibility of the wide triaxial weave, amaze with its stability and control because of the super strong 18K carbon fiber tows, and give a power boost for full swing finishes and ground strokes.
There are multiple layers on each side of the polypropylene core to create a unique blend of soft, but poppy touch. The top surface layer is that breakthrough ultra-durable, yet flexible 3D 18K cubic carbon fiber in a stunning triaxial weave shape (Toray brand). It's that stable, yet flexible 18K surface that increases the dwell time the ball spends on the paddle before it exits. The second layer is Toray brand T700 carbon fiber. The bottom layer touching the polypropylene core is flexible fiberglass, acting as the strong backstop rebound to bring a dose of power to your full swings and overhead finishes.
What does this all mean?
- Plush touch for dinks, resets and the soft game
- Intuitive ball placement with increased dwell time
- Reduction in unwanted pop ups
- Power boost on full swings
What are the X Series improvements?

- Stronger fiberglass response

I recently bought this paddle and absolutely love it!! The spin generated is outstanding.
Saw review on PBEffect as the Shapeshifter being a top pick so far in 2025. I was playing with BNB Filth and then went to BNB Shogun looking for more control, less power, etc. What caught my eye was the review on spin and softness - I can generate my own power just fine, but I really wanted something to "shape" my topspin and get some more bite on my BH slice. I am also an aggressive server/returner and really value control and placement. I love my BNB paddles - but they don't touch the spin/control that I am experiencing right now. I really do like my Shogun, but this Chorus paddle is helping me soften my game and continue to hit with lots of spin (more spin and less pace - trying to be less of a banger). Played tennis all my life (HS, college, competitive adult stuff) and I just hit the ball too hard on the PB court. This paddle is helping me slow down and be more precise. But, I can still get all the power I want on drives, serves, volleys and overheads...like the name of the paddle, I can "shift" into power when needed. Once I feel better about softening up my game, I would like to try the EX power paddle from Chorus, but right now I'm loving the soft/spin/control of the Shapeshifter!
As a beginner player, I had isolated spin as my #1 weapon. After hitting the web, reading reviews and watching videos, I settled on this paddle. It performs and then some. I would easily buy it again as a replacement. Bought 2 more paddles from Chorus for my wife too. Great company to deal with.
Paddle arrived when expected. The package was very nice with lot of protection for paddle.
Love the play ability of this chorus paddle
I've tried all the latest paddles from all of the biggest brands. This is the paddle I play the best with. It does it all. Chorus made a hell of a paddle here.
