FAQ
What is Harmony Grit?
- Chorus’ own custom hybrid texture with special embedded granules
Does it last longer than normal “raw carbon fiber” texture?
- Yes! Early third party results show up to 3x the durability of “raw” carbon fiber
- This means much longer lasting average spin potential!
Is it supposed to “feel really gritty?”
- No. Brushing your hand over the paddle for “feel” can actually be misleading compared to other “super gritty” paddles.
- Even when you feel like it “smooths” a little over time, remember the on-court performance is the key to measure!
How does Harmony Grit work?
- As “gritty” peaks smooth, granules compensate for “gritty” falloff
- This keeps the average spin potential around more much longer than normal paddle textures!
How do I clean it?
- You can use rubber erasers
- But no eraser needed – you can wipe clean with your hand or microfiber cloth!
Why long-lasting instead of permanent grits?
- Our biggest goal was to preserve the personality and playability of the paddle.
- There is no true “permanent” grit, but the near-zero loss grits we prototyped felt like a completely different playable material layer that muted and changed the personalities of our soft carbon fiber and fiberglass materials.
- We chose to preserve the character of the paddle we loved instead of trying to claim 0%-1% spin loss on a paddle we don't like.

I only got to use it for one open play before my wife tried it and stuck it in her bag. I really liked the way it played and felt!
Mine was shipped early. Nice surprise!
Also, the paddle face feels smooth and not “gritty” to the touch, but the literature says this.
The Coda E is my new main paddle. I've played with all Chorus Pickleball paddles and am still impressed with their innovation of paddle technology.
The elongated shape and Harmony Grit surface have been great for my game. I’m hitting more confident drives and dinks, so it’s really a great all-around paddle with plenty of power. I bought the original CODA when it launched in the hybrid shape, and it’s a great paddle. I like this one even better.
I’m happily singing and slamming along in the Chorus!!
I really like this paddle. I review ton of paddles, however Coda has become one of my mains. It's always fun to step away from the main branded vendors to a product that easily out perfoms the big brand names.
The Coda E with Harmony Grit has been on my want list for awhile and it does not disappoint. Matt explained that the grit was more of a solution for longevity and less for extreme grit. He nailed it. The Harmony Grit is in a league of its own. It is basically allergic to ball dust and is easily wiped off with a hand between points without smearing or getting stuck. It also has such a special feel when hitting shots.
A lot of paddles currently are focused on getting this crazy grit and sacrifice paddle feel. The Coda E keeps its feel with the Harmony Grit on board. It's on the softer side of foams, but the power is there. I was expecting something on the low end, but was pleasantly surprised at the power this thing generates.
I normally add weight to my elongated paddles (3-5g on each side around 4/8), but with the Coda E I've actually left it stock which is very new for me. It may be a break-in period thing, but for now it's staying stock.
My main before the Coda E was a J6CR and I had every intention on sticking with that paddle until I wore it out, but the Coda E snuck in and has taken the top spot, relegating the J6CR to my bag. If you're a fan of the J6CR, this is a great step-up. A bit more power, weighted pretty similarly and a longer lasting grit on-board.
